Transit fare increase, end of complimentary one-hour parking, and changes to delegate registration coming in the new year
Winnipeg, MB – The City is announcing several changes and updates that will take effect in January 2022.
Transit fare increase
Starting January 1, 2022, new Winnipeg Transit fares will be in effect. Full cash fares will be $3.10. Senior and Youth cash fares will be $2.60. New rates for tickets and passes will also be in effect January 1, 2022. 2021 bus tickets (plus applicable cash difference) will be accepted until March 31, 2022.

Complimentary one-hour parking and temporary loading zones ending
One-hour complimentary parking offered at all metered locations in Winnipeg from Monday to Friday will be ending on December 31, 2021. Temporary 15-minute loading zones that were established around Downtown and the Exchange District will also be ending on December 31, 2021. Winnipeg Parking Authority has offered this complimentary parking and temporary loading zones since March 28, 2020.
Two-hour complimentary parking will continue to be available on Saturdays for on-street paid parking locations. There is no requirement to pay for on-street parking on Sundays or Statutory Holidays. More information is available at The Parking Store – Metered Payment Methods.
Deadline for delegate registration
The deadline for people wishing to appear as a delegation or provide written submissions to City Council or a committee of council has changed to noon the business day prior to the meeting. This can be done by using the public submission form. Delegates appearing in person must be fully vaccinated. Remote delegations continue to be accommodated.
