CMHC Affordable Housing Fund (previously, National Housing Co-Investment Fund) provides low-cost repayable loans and forgivable loans for building new affordable housing shelters, transitional and supportive housing.
The Indigenous Shelter and Transitional Housing initiative supports shelters and transitional homes for Indigenous people escaping gender-based violence including women and their children, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people.
The Women and Children Shelter and Transitional Housing Initiative is part of the Co-Investment fund, and supports transitional housing and shelter spaces for women and their children fleeing violence.
Other funding opportunities
CMHC SEED Funding provides interest-free loans and/or non-repayable contributions to help with costs related to pre-development activities. This can include business plans, preliminary designs, development permits and more.
FCM Sustainable Affordable Housing offers support to local affordable housing providers to retrofit existing affordable housing units, or construct energy efficient new builds that emit lower GHG emissions.
Efficiency Manitoba New Buildings Program provide support for new, energy efficient buildings, up to $2.00/sq.ft. plus another $10,000 toward energy modelling.
HPC Housing Investment Corporation delivers long-term, low-cost financing to housing non-profits and cooperatives to build more affordable housing and regenerate Canadian community housing portfolios.
