Weapons – Arrest: C21-294314 & R21-68961

Released: December 20, 2021 at 8 a.m.

On December 18, 2021, at 7:26 p.m., North District General Patrol officers, with the assistance of the K9 Unit, responded to the area of Machray Avenue and Aikins Street for a report of a male armed with a firearm. The male had been seen pointing the gun at passing vehicles.

At 7:29 p.m., a suspect matching the description of the male was safely taken into custody at Mountain Avenue and Aikins Street. A search of him resulted in the seizure of a black BB handgun.

While in police custody, the suspect broke a protective glass window in a holding cell.

A 17-year-old male of Winnipeg has been charged with:

- Possession of a Weapon
- Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition

He is also facing charges of:

- Mischief Under $5,000/Obstruct in Enjoyment

He was detained in custody.
