Firearm – Arrest: C24-180939

Released: August 8, 2024 at 2:05 p.m.

On August 4, 2024, at approximately 11:45 p.m., a male youth was operating his motor vehicle in the 1100 block of Wall Street. Members of the Winnipeg Police Guns and Gangs Unit were in the area and conducted a traffic stop on the male youth’s vehicle to ensure the driver held a valid driver’s license.

Further investigation revealed that the driver did not possess a valid driver’s license and was found to be in possession of a loaded firearm.

Items seized included the following:

  • .32 caliber revolver handgun
  • Six rounds of .32 caliber ammunition

The Guns and Gangs Unit arrested the male youth (17) and charged him with the following:

  • Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  • Possession of a Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm
  • Carrying Concealed Weapon Prohibited Device or Ammunition
  • Drive Without Valid Driver’s Licence

He was released from custody on an Undertaking per the Criminal code.
