Housing Accelerator Fund Capital Grant Incentive

The deadline to submit an application for the first round of funding through the Housing Accelerator Fund Capital Grant Incentive was July 12, 2024. We are no longer accepting applications.

The City of Winnipeg’s Housing Accelerator Fund Capital Grant Incentive program will provide grants directly to developers to create more housing.

This first round will focus on affordable housing projects and projects Downtown, with $25 million available.

Projects must be creating new housing and demonstrate ability to secure a building permit within one year of approval.

Future rounds of funding will be open at a later date with ability to support additional projects. Future rounds may include incentives for projects outside the Downtown, such as near transit corridors.

The City is also in ongoing discussions with other funding partners, such as Province of Manitoba and End Homelessness Winnipeg, to ensure alignment and maximize program impact.
